TV'OKE V.2 CONCEPT
TV'oke is a late night interactive karaoke musical series
where users can participate by singing popular songs
together. Each episode is a mix of different themes of pop
culture, which is portrayed by the visual and audio style
rapidly changing from one genre to another. There’s
also a narrative development progressing while the singing
goes on. The duration of an episode is about 30 minutes.
Ideal broadcast time-slot would be at Friday or Saturday
night.
The viewers can use their web cam and computer microphone
to join the party and sing the songs. They are represented
by an on-screen animated character with the real face of
the participant. If participants sing well, their character
will increase “bloom”, which is made clear with
the behavior of the character and visual clues related to
the current theme.
On the technical level, the TV'oke system consists of a
software component creating the combination of
algorithmically controlled sets of animated character
movements and the video feeds from the users' web cams; a
video streaming solution; a moderator interface used to ban
explicit content; a web site with possibilities of
participating the show and practicing the songs; and
naturally the broadcast system of the TV network.
